In June 2021, International Journal of Extreme Manufacturing (IJEM) France Editorial Office at ICMCB-CNRS, Bordeaux, France, is officially set up with the strong support of Professor Jean-Francois Silvain and colleagues at ICMCB.
IJEM is devoted to publishing original research of the highest quality and impact in the areas related to extreme manufacturing. It aims to build a high-level international academic exchange platform for experts and scholars in related fields. Meanwhile, ICMCB-CNRS has significant influence in Europe and parts of the world in areas of functional materials, nanomaterials and so on. Therefore, IJEM Editorial Office at ICMCB-CNRS, as the first IJEM editorial office in Europe, will become the bridge between the journal and Europe scientists, attracting more researchers, scholars and academic resources together to make IJEM a world-class platform for authors and readers.

The International Journal of Extreme Manufacturing, launched in 2019, is a multidisciplinary journal covering the areas related to extreme manufacturing. It is devoted to publishing original research of the highest quality and impact in the areas related to extreme manufacturing, which scope covers five aspects: material interactions with energy beams and fields, approaches and theories of processing, metrology and characterization, equipment and systems, and extreme conditions. The editorial board members consist of over 60 leading scientists and engineers from 15 countries/regions.
By June 2021, IJEM has been indexed in 15 databases including ESCI, EI, Scopus, DOAJ and Inspec et al. Currently, IJEM editorial offices have spread over the United States of America，United Kingdom, Australia, China, etc. which provide 24–hour professional services.
Submit to IJEM, authors will benefit gold open access, free of charge, free and professional English polishing, free and high quality figure editing, and free widest possible global promotion for the research.

Appendix B: ICMCB-CNRS
Institut de Chimie de la Matière Condensée de Bordeaux (ICMCB-CNRS) is a joint Research Unit of the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS). The ICMCB focuses on three research areas: Solid State Chemistry, Materials Science and Molecular Science. This complementary combination, and the resulting synergies, has contributed to the national and international reputation of the ICMCB in Materials Research.
Furthermore, the ICMCB associates even its fundamental research activities to potential or existing applications. Its interest is not limited to ideal materials and their intrinsic properties, but specifically includes interfaces, surfaces and composites. An important role in this aspect plays its activities in nano-materials and meta-materials. Research also covers all length scales from atomic clusters over nano-particles to macroscopic bulk ceramics and single crystals.
